No Starts For Honda Civic…Anyone?

Honda_Civic_distributor No Starts For Honda Civic Question:

The no starts for Honda Civic came when it quit on me the other day while I was going to work. After having it towed to my house and scanned for codes, I could not get any fault code. Testing for spark, there is solid blue spark and I can smell fuel. Reading your ATS lessons, it is mentioned that the engine main relay is the primary cause of this problem. Can you confirm this?

No Starts For Honda Civic ATS Fix:

When your no starts for Honda Civic problem caused your engine quit while driving, the most common culprit is your distributor which houses the igniter and control the spark. Although you tested the spark and found none, you might have tested it after the engine cooled down. The best way to test it is to test it while the engine is warm like using a propane torch and apply heat on the distributor. When that is done, the no spark symptom should appear.

Another simple way to test the distributor is to remove the cap and check for presence of “red” dust inside the distributor. When you see that, it shows the components inside the distributor is getting worn.

If this fix will still not work for you, try measuring the electric specs of the igniter. Again try to warm it up before doing the measurements. If you like, I can send you the wiring schematics of the ignition system so you can check all the connections one by one. Make sure to reset the engine computer for every repair you make before proceeding to the next one.

Finally, to solve no starts for Honda Civic problems, the buzz world is test, test, test. This is the only sure way to avoid replacing unnecessary parts. ATS provides assistance so you can do it online by supplying you with late model wiring diagrams and common fixes good upto 2008 models (wiring diagrams only go up to 2007).
