Dodge wiper motor question:
This Dodge wiper motor will not stop even when the fuse for it was removed. This vehicle is a 1997 Intrepid and a 1997 model. When I then tried replacing the windshield motor with a dealer part, to my astonishment, the problem remained the same. Finally, using an OBD2 scanner, I could not get any code. I am now stuck with this wiper motor problem and I am out of my wits. Do you have any suggestions?
Dodge wiper motor ATS Fix:
To solve this Dodge wiper motor problem, you tried replacing the wiper motor with a new one, This to me indicates a serious wiper motor wiring problem. Have you checked the ground wires to this wiper motor? One quick way to test this, you can run your own direct wiring from the battery using the ground and power supplies. If you confirmed that the wiper motor is working, you can back track both ground and power supplies using a wiper motor wiring diagram.
Finally to check the Dodge wiper motor, you have to trace the wiper circuits from the motor up to the multi-function switch located in your steering wheel. If the wires in between are verified to be good, then by elimination, I strongly suggest that you should remove the multi-function switch so you can test it for closer inspection. ATS can provide a step by step removal and installation procedures so you can do it properly. If you want an online assistance from a licensed mechanic, please leave your comment on the box below.
