Mr.Richard Trent graduated in Mech.Engineering back in 1971 in the city of Manila Philippines where he was a Recon supervisor for Cummins Diesel for 4 years at a young age of 25. He noticed everytime his top mechanics solved a very difficult problem on diesel trucks, they looked very happy and it struck him. The same thing happened when he became a maintenance supervisor for Brunei Shell when he was assigned to maintain Production offshore equipments. He felt, he has to work with his hands to enjoy his profession.

When he came to Canada in 1977, he made up his mind to work as a mechanic. And guess what? His first job was as a heavy duty mechanic for a construction outfit working on Graders whose tires are bigger than him. And when trying to overhaul the big Caterpillar engine, his wife whom she brought to work grasped? “Are you sure you want to do this”? And about 1 and 1/2 months later, he got it done…

From that time on, there was no looking back until he set up his own automotive engine rebuilding garage in Calgary in 1985 to 1995 which started the setting up of ATS (Automotive Troubleshooting Secrets) website in 2000.
