P1374 code on 1996 Olds Cutlass with 3.1L engine

Question:
My 1996 Olds Cutlass has this check engine light and I got a code P1374 code which is 3X Reference signal circuit when I scanned it. Other symptoms I have besides this are surging intermittently and cutting out. Any idea how to proceed to fix this?
ATS Adviser:
This code P1374 mainly refers to the connection wirings between the crank and cam sensors, ignition module and the ecm (computer). The most common culprit here is usually located at the harness at the right corner at the engine compartment. There is a purple white wire coming from your ignition module and sometimes, it would rub the power steering hose and have an open connection. make sure that wire is not cut or open.
Should you find the wire to be OK, check the integrities of other wires to the crank and cam sensors, ignition modules and ecm for tightness and corrosion. If they are OK, let me know so I can send you the wiring diagram so you can check those components themselves.
